About

Daniel Jacob Hill

AS-Psychology, RYT-500,  and Licensed Cosmetologist
My name is Daniel Jacob Hill, as a native to Salt Lake City, Utah my career as a hairstylist began at Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design in the summer of 2008.

Within my career as a hairstylist I created opportunities to work backstage at New York Fashion Week, Sundance Film Festival (Utah), and Ballet West (Utah). My love for the theater created a path for me to join Utah Opera and Symphony (2012-2018) as a wig and makeup artist. In 2017 I was offered the opportunity to be the wig and make-up designer for Utah Operas productions of The Long Walk (2017), co-designer of Don Giovanni (2017), and La Boheme (2017).

Between 2009-2018 I worked for the haircare company, UNITE as an Educator and Regional Artistic Director where I regularly gave public speeches to distributors, clients, and other educators, while also teaching hair cutting and hair styling classes to other industry leaders.

As a practitioner of yoga and other mindfulness practices since the age of 18 I hold a wealth of knowledge on eastern practices like yoga, pranayama, mindful meditation, and  sound bowl ceremonies. In 2019 I traveled to India to expand my knowledge on Sivananada Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama, and Ayurveda.

In the summer of 2019 I published my book Pattern Breakers. A book on assisting those in the customer service world create healthy patterns, boundaries, and cultivate a strong foundation of empathy to assist them in the work and beyond.

In April 2022 I opened up my first salon, Omni salon + wellness, inspired by years of experience as a hairstylist, my desire for merging wellness practices into the salon experience, and design inspired by traveling the world. Those travels led me to move to Amsterdam in the late June of 2026, where I currently see clients at a little willow hair space located in the Plantage neighborhood.

My purpose within my career is to empower and motivate people to look and feel their best.
