PATTERN BREAKERS

First off happy belated New Years! It has taken me (a lot) longer than anticipated to get the first blog of 2019 up. The reason why is because I have been preoccupied with a project that has been near and dear to my heart for the last year.

Roughly a year ago I had an idea! Coming out of my 'hitting rock bottom' period, I realized I had cultivated healthy patterns. These patterns not only pulled me out of my lowest of lows, but they also created more success in my career behind the chair. I also noticed that the hair industry had a wealth of knowledge to offer hairstylists on haircutting and coloring techniques, business management, marketing, and how to build a clientele. But the one area I felt was missing was a way to create a stable foundation of self-care while working behind the chair.

This inspired me to write a book and share these strategies with others!

To devote one’s self to this craft, there is a price to be paid. Beauty professionals spend much of their time caring for other people’s needs. In the process, our own needs sometimes get lost, because there is just not enough time or energy left in a day to manage them. I know many stylists who drink heavily, smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, use drugs regularly, and find other unhealthy ways to “unwind” after seeing 10 to 20 clients a day. (I should know. I was that person.) We cripple ourselves with habitual patterns and coping mechanisms that hinder our potential.

Over the past year I have done extensive research and combined with the techniques that I apply in my daily life I began to create my book, Pattern Breakers. I have also developed Pattern Breakers workshops as a tool to help maintain and create new patterns. The information provided in the book and workshops help assist people in creating self-care rituals to elevate their career and day to day lives.

The work begins with recognizing and understanding your patterns, establishing healthy boundaries, and cultivating a practice of empathy. As you build upon this foundation, you will find opportunities to achieve, acquire and cultivate what you desire in life and in your career.

This project is something I am very passionate about and can not wait to share it with the world! The book is not yet published, but everyday it becomes one step closer to being available to the public. I first wrote Pattern Breakers solely for hairdressers but, as the work grew and evolved I found that these techniques can be applied to anyone in the service industry, if you are a bartender, waiter, teacher, esthetician, nurse, tattoo artist, anyone who works one on one with individuals, this work is for you!

I invite you on this journey to break old patterns that hinder you and allow new patterns in your life that will elevate you to your true potential. If you are interested in learning more or would like to become a pattern breaker, head over to Pattern Breakers and join our mailing list. By joining the mailing list you will be the first to hear about the book release and be informed when workshops are available in your area.

Join the revolution in elevating one another in creating a well-balanced life!
